Despite the downturn in the overall U.S. economy, the U.S. Internet advertising revenue rose in the third quarter according to a study released by the Internet Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers. The PWC report states that online advertising revenue was up 11% from the same period last year totaling almost $5.9 billion. Pc Pools Marketing Director Ted Robinson had this to say, "Given the state of the economy direct marketing companies, like Pc Pools, continue to spend ad dollars online to attract new consumers. In addition, traditional brick and mortar retailers who are struggling to increase sales look to the web as a way to drive traffic into their store locations. Probably not a great strategy" quipped, Robinson. Online consumers are very sophisticated and are increasingly looking for the convenience of at home delivery with free shipping. Rather than drive from store to store price shopping, consumers are using the internet to research, price shop and purchase many of purchases. We will continue to increase our online advertising in 2009." "Fortunately, we are not seeing any decline in traffic or sales volume at Pc Pools," Robinson continued. "Our warehouse direct pricing and the more "need based" product line are growing our sales nicely. Also, we have always understood that online consumers prefer free shipping. In this economic climate in particular, free shipping on all our pool supplies, including pool equipment and above ground pools is really appreciated and valued by our customers."
