Manually brushing the sides of your above ground swimming pool is a great way to reduce algae and bacteria growth. This is also a good time to lightly scrub the corners of the above ground swimming pool. Doing so once a week will force the unwanted debris and residue to the middle pool floor where it can be easily picked up by your automatic pool cleaner or vacuum.
