Size in gallons is the water capacity of your pool. To calculate the
size in gallons, follow these simple directions.
First, calculate the average depth of the pool. Measure the depth at the shallowest end and the depth
plus the depth at its deepest. Add the shallowest and deepest measurements and divide by 2 to determine the
average depth of the pool. For instance, if a pool is 3 feet deep at its shallowest end and is 6 feet deep
at its deepest end, the average pool depth is 4.5 feet (3+6=9 and 9/2=4.5 feet).
Rectangle or Square Pools
(Length of pool) x (Width) x (average depth) x 7.5 = size in gallons
Oval Pools
(Shortest diameter) x (long diameter) x (average depth) x 5.9 = size in gallons
Round Pools
(diameter of pool) x (average depth) x 5.9 = size in gallons
Irregular Shaped Pools
The best method is to contact the pool builder to get the exact measurement.
If this is not possible, use the formula for the rectangle pool. |
